The primary aims of the course are to promote personal and career development by increasing the participant's knowledge and understanding of management. As a Level 7/Postgraduate Programme, it will develop management skills relevant to senior management positions and provide participants with a basis for further self-development and encourage them to take responsibility for both their own development and for those for whom they are responsible. Participants develop analytical skills which enable participants to appraise management theory and action and to solve complex problems in the workplace. Teaching on the course is directly linked to, and is delivered with an understanding of, the working environment. The programme takes what participants already know in practice and provides a framework of supporting academic knowledge.
The Programme combines excellent generalist management teaching and learning with highly valuable additional recognition, qualification and activities. We offer a unique combination of opportunities which represent excellent value for money in a competitive and expensive marketplace.

Delivery
Each module would be delivered as 3 day workshops at times to be arranged during the indicated timescale. The workshops would be one aspect of a blended learning approach which would also include a virtual learning environment, one-to-one email and telephone support and coaching from module tutors, linking theory with practice, work-based activities, personal study and work-based assignments.
Work-based learning is central to the ethos of programme design and we would welcome the opportunity to include organisationally appropriate features in the programme delivery. Moreover, in order to meet learning outcomes at level 7, we encourage close collaboration between participants and their senior managers in measuring outcomes from learning. Therefore, many of the assessments can be specifically tied to organisational priorities and projects.
