Critical Thinking & Red Teaming for Creative and Agile Organisations
Innovation is vital for any organisation in either the public or private sector. Challenging conventional wisdom and the status quo is important to reduce risks, improve problem-solving and generate options. Delivered over
one day, delegates will receive access to a new and different approach to unlocking potential in their people.
Course Content:-
Day 1:
Insights will be drawn from intelligence, commercial and other contexts to enable delegates to lead red- teaming events that are “the independent application of a range of structured, creative and critical thinking techniques to assist the end user make a better informed decision or produce a more robust product” (UK Ministry of Defence 2013).
This module will transfer skills in critical and alternative future thinking and creativity, using scenario planning, the 7 question combat estimate and other practical techniques. Instruction will be provided by individuals with direct personal experience of leading and implementing red- teaming at national strategic and operational military contexts.
Delivery
The University of Northampton will deliver this programme. To ensure the delegates receive the best possible experience, delivery staff will comprise of a combination of approachable and experienced-in-the-real-world academic staff and subject-matter experts, including current / recently retired members of the Special Forces, other defence practitioners; industry experts (e.g. crisis management in UK utilities). The experience and insight of the external resources combined with the academic delivery provides a truly unique experience.
Certification
This programme is a non-credit bearing professional development workshop that will provide all attendees with a University Certificate of Completion.
Entry Requirements
Whilst no formal qualifications are required for entry, we would expect all attendees to be able to work at a minimum of degree level.
